Buying a course, receipts and refunds

Some RAiN Academy courses are free. Others have a price, shown on the course page beside the course details, and buying one gives you full access: every module open from the start.

You still work through a course in order. Full access means you never wait for a module to be opened. It doesn't let you skip one.

What the price includes

The price on the course page includes VAT (7.5%). RAiN sells every course on the Academy, including those made by other training providers, so your receipt comes from RAiN.

Payment is by Paystack. Paystack adds its small processing fee at checkout, so the total on the Paystack page can be a little more than the course price. That difference is Paystack's fee, not a change of price.

Buying, step by step

Sign in, then open the course page.
Press Buy full access, which shows the price.
Pay on the Paystack page, by card or any other way it offers.
Paystack brings you back to the course page. For a few seconds it shows Confirming your payment with Paystack…, then Payment received.
Press Start learning. Your receipt arrives by email.

If you're not signed in, pressing Buy asks you to sign in first and brings you back to the course.

If the confirmation takes longer than a minute, the page stops waiting and says so. Nothing is lost: full access switches on as soon as Paystack confirms, and the receipt email arrives at the same moment. Refresh the course page a little later.

Your receipt

The email is titled Your receipt ACA-…. It shows the receipt number, the course, who made it, the price and the VAT inside it. The same receipt number appears on the course page under Full access, so you can always find it again.

Courses you can also open at the workspace

Some courses are paced by the workspace. Each day you check in at a RAiN workspace opens one module, free. Those courses show two buttons:

Enroll now starts the course free. Modules then open one per workspace day. See Unlocking modules with a workspace booking.
Buy full access opens every module at once.

You can start free and buy later. Buying adds full access on top, and nothing you have already done is lost.

Refunds

You can refund a course yourself if both of these are true:

it's within 7 days of buying it, and
you've completed less than 25% of its lessons.

While you can, the course page shows Refund available until a date, and a Request a refund link under it.

Press Request a refund.
Read what will happen, add a reason if you like (it's optional), and press Confirm refund.
The money goes back to the card or account you paid with. Your bank may take a few working days to show it. A confirmation email follows.

What a refund changes. Full access ends straight away. Your lesson progress is kept, so if you buy the course again you carry on where you stopped. On a workspace-paced course, the modules you opened by checking in stay open.

The terms are the ones in force on the day you bought. They're printed in your receipt email.

Questions people ask

The Refund link has gone. Why? Either the 7 days have passed, or you've completed 25% or more of the lessons. If you think something is wrong, contact us with your receipt number.

I paid, but the course still looks locked. Paystack hadn't confirmed yet. Give it a minute and refresh. If your receipt email has arrived and the course is still locked, contact us with the receipt number.

Can I buy a course for someone else? Full access belongs to the account that bought it. Ask the other person to buy it on their own RAiN account.

Does full access expire? No. It stays with your account, as your progress does.

Why is the Paystack total different from the price? The difference is Paystack's processing fee, added at checkout. The course price, and the VAT inside it, are what your receipt shows.
